BigRep, a German-based manufacturer of large-format 3D printers, launched its latest range of systems at Formnext 2021.
The new printer BigRep PRO of the company is designed to be the industrial source of influence, offering a volume of cubic meter. Suitable for both large parts and small batches, the system is capable of printing functional prototypes, production tools, models, molds and end-use parts.
The updated BigRep ONE, on the other hand, is meant to be the company's affordable offering. The machine provides an affordable route to large-format FFF and is aimed at designers, model makers and researchers looking to produce full-scale components.

BigRep PRO
As is the case with the rest of the BigRep range, the new PRO 3D printer is characterized by its enormous size, featuring a volume of 1020 x 970 x 985 mm. Equipped with a fully composite-ready PRO ACE extruder, the machine can be used to print a full range of fiber-reinforced composite filaments, including PA12-CF.
In an effort to improve ease of use, BigRep integrates what it calls a package of “Jumpstart" with PRO. Designed to streamline the prepress workflow, Jumpstart allows users to start printing in minutes by completely eliminating manual print preparation. IN Jumpstart is turned on Switchblade (movable flexible print bed), Lockstage (extruder mounting system) and the new control system MXT on the printer. MXT uses proprietary algorithms to coordinate all PRO components and processes to enable speed, accuracy and repeatability.
BigRep ONE
Like PRO, BigRep ONE is undoubtedly massive. With a volume of 1005 x 1005 x 1005 mm, the ONE has been redesigned to be lighter and more precise, as well as being configurable according to the customer's needs.
Users will be able to choose between a single or dual extruder setup, depending on the desired application. BigRep also offers add-ons such as a closed chamber enclosure, with the printer color also optional.
In addition, the BigRep ONE comes complete with a composite fiber-ready Power Extruder (PEX), which allows users to 3D print parts made from composite fiber-filled materials.
