Bugatti has just unveiled the latest generation of its hypercars: Tourbillon. This new model combines cutting-edge technology, massive power, luxury and advanced aerodynamics. As the successor of Chiron, Tourbillon boasts an impressive 1,800 hp engine. and a newly designed chassis and suspension. These components are 3D printed using the Divergent Adaptive Production System, a software and hardware solution from the American company Divergent. This innovative system allows rethinking the design and creating a lighter structure with higher performance. Using metal additive manufacturing, Bugatti achieved a 45% suspension weight reduction.

With a length of 4.67 meters, the Bugatti Tourbillon can reach a speed of 400 km/h in just 25 seconds, thanks to its hybrid system. This supercar is powered by a 16-cylinder engine supplemented by three electric motors – two on the front and one on the rear axle. Bugatti focuses on delivering unmatched power without compromising on comfort and style. While the previous model heavily inspired the exterior design, the interior epitomizes luxury. It should be noted that the interior accessories are made by a famous Swiss watchmaker. The 600-piece dashboard features precious stones such as rubies and sapphires. Its leather-wrapped screen appears only when requested by the driver. Essentially Tourbillon truly lives up to its name, offering a stunning combination of elegance and performance.

Bugatti collaborated with Divergent to design an all-new chassis and lighter suspension for the Tourbillon. Adding three electric motors could have significantly increased the hypercar's weight, but Divergent's advanced manufacturing system, which uses 3D printing and artificial intelligence, optimizes the car's performance. The Tourbillon chassis now features a 3D-printed aluminum multi-link suspension that replaces the steel double wishbone system used in the Chiron hypercar. This innovative manufacturing approach allowed Bugatti to reduce suspension weight with the 45%.

Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, added: “We are excited to announce this partnership after working closely together over the last 18 months. Clearly, Divergent is an industry leader in digital engineering and additive manufacturing. These optimized chassis components find their perfect home in our most advanced car to date.”

The car is lighter and has 1800 horsepower.

The Bugatti Tourbillon also features numerous 3D printed structural reinforcements and reworked materials. For example, carbon composite has been chosen for the body of the car, the front air ducts and the rear diffuser. All these factors help to reduce the weight of the car while offering high performance and aerodynamics. The Bugatti Tourbillon will be priced at $4.2 million.
